To help your mind and body

HOLISTIC MASSAGE

A massage using organic oils which benefits the mind and body; an ideal choice of complementary therapy for clients with physical aches and pains, for those who feel tired or stressed, or for anyone wishing to relax and pamper themselves.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MASSAGE?

Massage can:

  • Alleviate lower back pain and improve range of motion

  • Enhance the immune system by stimulating lymph flow - the body's defence system

  • Assist with easier labour and shorten hospital stays for pregnant women

  • Reduce scar tissues and stretch marks

  • Reduce Cramping

  • Stretch weak or tight muscles

  • Lessen depression and anxiety

  • Improve the condition of the skin

  • Improve circulation by pumping oxygen and nutrients to vital organs

  • Helps with sports recovery from strenuous workouts, tired and overused muscles

  • Releases endorphins - the body's natural painkiller

  • Relieves Migraine pain

A POWERFUL TOOL

There is no escaping the power of bodywork. Whatever your reasons for trying it (a nice treat, pain management, or stress relief), or the lovely descriptions therapists use to describe it (pampering, rejuvenating, therapeutic), massage therapy is a powerful tool in any healthy lifestyle habit.

Experts indicate that stress is the cause of over 90% of ill health and disease. Nothing else ages us faster, internally and externally than high levels of stress.

During stressful experiences, the sympathetic nervous system floods your system with adrenaline. Your heartbeat increases and blood pumps to the muscles ready to fight or run. Muscles tighten, and the breath restricts. You stop digesting, and your brain shuts down making it difficult to think. Cortisol is released into the system and undermines our immune system. In the short term, we can cope with some level of stress, but when this level of stress is left unattended to for prolonged periods, we are subjecting our bodies to more serious ill health and diseases.

While eliminating anxiety and pressure in this modern, fast-paced world may be idealistic, its' not realistic. However, massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress by:

  • Decreasing anxiety

  • Enhancing sleep quality

  • Boosting energy and lowering fatigue

  • Improving concentration

  • Increasing circulation

  • Clients often report a sense of balance after a massage

As each person has a different reason for massage, I can use different techniques (stretches, gentle massage, deep tissue massage, hands-free or relaxation work) to ensure you achieve your desired outcome. So, whether you want to pamper yourself, work a painful area, promote injury recovery, or just a sense of overall well-being, then this can easily be achieved with holistic massage.
